DeleteMe, too. I'm with Anne about Lily's quote. I loved the Astor one, too. I wish I had a cheerful thought. I'm so sick of this election. But I loved the quotes you chose. Well, maybe I have one. It's from Hitchcock's "The Birds." One of the character actors, drunk and sitting in the bar, remarks when the birds attack Bodega Bay, "It's the end of the world." Sometimes this election feels that way to me but then I take heart and hope for the best. Great post, Charlie. Hugs your way P and B.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul - I feel your pain (or your unease as the case may be). At this point my biggest concern is how different elements of our country will ever find a way to understand one another after all this acrimony.

DeleteGreat quotes; my fave is George Eliot's, oldie goldie. Any idea WHY the Michaels quote is past tense?
